How can we more effectively protect the global commons? What is the role of philanthropy?
The Global Commons Fund (GCF) is a partner of the Global Commons Commission. GCF initiatives include managing funding, operating educational programs for the philanthropic sector, and developing public/private/philanthropic partnerships.
Founded in 2025, the GCF unites grantmakers, philanthropic advisors, subject-matter experts, NGOs, and governmental allies to understand and address issues of the global commons.
With the release of its White Paper on the Global Commons and Philanthropy, and the announcement of Global Commons Bank Cards, the GCF was first introduced to the public in June, 2025, at the NEXUS Global Summit in New York City.
The GCF does not accept unsolicited proposals or funding requests.
